Heard a Christmas carol while rugged up in a Roxby winter? If you catch one, note the time, date & song, and give us a shout — we’ll send it back to December where it belongs!

The ROX Resiliency Project

The Rox Resiliency Project is a local initiative dedicated to exploring the strength, courage, and perseverance of individuals and families in our community. Through storytelling, interviews, and shared experiences, we aim to celebrate resilience, the human ability to adapt, recover, and thrive in the face of challenges.

Rox Resiliency is an initiative that will engage locals in Roxby Downs and Andamooka through a series of interviews and stories broadcasted on community radio later this year as part of our podcast series. These conversations will explore individual journeys through different experiences of extreme hardship and the inner and outer resources people drew on to meet those challenges with resilience. Storytelling is an ancient practice in society and a powerful source of education, inspiration, and shared human values. People of all ages and backgrounds experience hardships or crises at some point in life, and exploring this topic can inspire listeners to reflect on their own strengths and coping strategies.

This project is brought to life through community support and donations from BHP, giving a voice to stories that inspire, inform, and connect us all.

How to Get Involved

There are many ways to contribute to the Rox Resiliency Project:

  • Share Your Story: If you or someone you know has a story of resilience, we’d love to hear it. Your story could explore personal challenges, overcoming obstacles, lessons learned through difficult times, or what resilience means to you. You can choose to be interviewed, or if you prefer to remain anonymous, we can pre-record your story using a different voice so your identity is protected.
  • Volunteer: Join our team in producing episodes, conducting interviews, or helping with community events related to the project.
  • Support: Donations help us keep the project running, support local contributors, and expand our reach.

To get involved, reach out via our contact page or email us directly at manager@roxfm.com.au or submit your story here.
